Cégep Marie-Victorin offers three options to get acadmic credit for a Canada World Youth program:
- Courses offered as part of the Core Program
- Diploma of College Studies
- International Project
Courses offered as part of the Core Program:
Participants in the Core Program who are residents of Quebec have the option of registering in one or more courses that have similar learning objectives to those of the CWY program. These courses are in French:
-
Cultural Diversity and Intercultural Relations
-
Arts and Culture
-
Social Involvement and Cultural Immersion
-
Environment Exploration
-
Interaction and Communication
-
English and Spanish language courses
These courses are offered to participants during their pre-orientation, which takes place a few months before the program begins. Participants who register in any of these courses are expected to: speak to the professors by phone to receive essential information about the courses; carry out certain assignments during both phases of the program; and respect course deadlines.
Diploma of College Studies in Community Development and Cross-Cultural Relations
All participants of the Core Program and the Québec sans frontières program may register for this diploma. It is a program focused on developing skills in community development and intercultural relations. Among other requirements, participants must complete a portfolio of their work according to predetermined deadlines in order to graduate. As well, there are certain Canada World Youth programs for which all participants are automatically registered for the diploma.
