| Theme: Language learning Learning Spanish was an incredible challenge
during this internship. While I was eager to learn Spanish
to help with my everyday activities, I was incredibly discouraged
with the amount there was to learn. This was the catalyst
for my rapid adaptation to my completely Spanish environment.
I set my mind to learning as much Spanish as I could within
the time I was in Ecuador. This was fully encouraged by
various elements of the program, especially by my family
and group meetings. Now, I appreciate the situation in which
I was placed, having to fully immerse myself in a culture.
I now can confidently say that I can effectively communicate
in a fully Spanish environment. This is one of the most
important components I have come to learn from this internship. |
