For more than a decade, Dalhousie University has been offering academic credit to Canada World Youth participants though its course "International Development Studies through Canada World Youth" (INTD 1201x/y, 2201x/y, 3201 x/y). This two-semester course is designed to combine academic recognition with participants’ field experience.

 
Selection criteria and application information
Selection criteria
  • You must have been accepted as a student at a Canadian university, or have applied for acceptance at Dalhousie University

    If you are not a Dalhousie student, it is your responsibility to make the necessary arrangements with your registrar for the transfer of the credit to your university (usually done with a Letter of Permission). This should be done before you begin your program. Please send a copy of this letter with your application and fees.
Cost

Application fee and tuition for one credit at Dalhousie: Approximately $1000

Canada World Youth program fees (including fundraising)

All students who are not already registered at Dalhousie University must fill out a university application. To fill out this application, please visit the Dalhousie University website at:

www.registrar.dal.ca/apps/

Send in your application with the fees noted above (make cheques payable to Dalhousie University). Please indicate in Section 3 on the application form which level you are registering for (1201=1st year; 2201=2nd year; 3201=3rd year).
