Canada World Youth, a program that offers young people aged between 17 and 24 a chance to enjoy an extraordinary international educational experience, has launched its 2006-2007 recruitment campaign! Candidates who apply before January 15, 2006 will be given priority for programs starting in spring and summer 2006.

A new public service announcement video has been specially created to kick off the campaign. Vibrant and richly coloured, it will be broadcast on Canadian television networks to whet young people’s appetite for a unique volunteer program in Canada and abroad. The CWY program
With CWY, groups of 18 young people from different cultures live with host families and do volunteer work for six months: three months in a Canadian community, and three months in a community in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe or Latin America.

Lifelong benefits
This formative experience is not a gap year: it is an educational program that complements studies. In some cases, Canada World Youth can even enable participants to earn study credits.

The CWY program gives participants an opportunity to

• Develop qualities that employers look for, helping them enter the labour market: leadership, teamwork, adaptability
• Become a committed global citizen, ready for the future

Who can participate?
Canada World Youth is for young men and women from all cultural backgrounds, all regions of Canada and all walks of life! Candidates must be:

• Between 17 and 24;
• A Canadian citizen or landed immigrant;
• In good health;
• Motivated, open-minded, and flexible!
