CWY’s first 2005-2006 program begins
June 7, 2005

A group of nine Canadians and seven Malians embarked on Canada World Youth’s first 2005-2006 program this week. The team will be living in central Quebec in the town of Princeville, a small community near Victoriaville, until August 29, 2005.

After their stay in Quebec the participants will travel to Mali for three months, where they will live with host families and engage themselves in community work projects.

The Malian participants arrived in Canada May 31. After a brief visit in Montreal they joined their Canadian counterparts for a week-long orientation to prepare them for integration into the community of Princeville.

In 2005-2006 Canada World Youth will allow 1300 youth to participate in 89 programs in Canada as well as 29 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

CWY offers youth the occasion to live valuable international educational experiences allowing them to acquire useful skills for their future, to increase their awareness of global issues and to actively engage themselves in the development in their communities.
